Thyroid Hormone Receptors (THRs) consist of alpha and beta subtypes, critical members of the nuclear receptor family that mediate thyroid hormone activity. These receptors regulate diverse physiological processes, including growth, metabolic function, and cardiac rhythm. THRα and THRβ are encoded by separate genes, NR1A1 (THRA) and NR1A2 (THRB), producing isoforms via differential splicing or promoter usage.
